Inauguration of the new head offices of Idom, the first building of the Zorrotzaurre regeneration project.
The engineering firm Idom today officially inaugurated its new headquarters building. Located in the lower San Ignacio area next to the Deusto Canal, its groundbreaking design and green colour represent the first finished building of the Zorrotzaurre urban renewal project. The inauguration, presided over by Idom’s Chairman, Fernando Querejeta, was attended by around 1,000 guests including the Mayor of Bilbao, Iñaki Azkuna, and the Leader of the Bizkaia Provincial Council, José Luis Bilbao. The new building, finished in barely one year, is faithful to the concept of maintaining the industrial heritage of Zorrotzaurre through renovation of the old bonded warehouse….

The Basque Government awards the contract for the drawing up of the construction project for the bridge to join Zorrotzaurre and Deusto
The Department of Housing, Pubic Works and Transport of the regional Basque Government, through the public body ETS, has awarded the drawing up of the construction project for the bridge that will join Deusto (next to the new IMQ Clinic) to the future island of Zorrotzaurre, to the temporary consortium formed by the firms Ingenierías Arenas y Asociados and CV Ingeniería. The construction costs for this first bridge in the Zorrotzaurre urban renewal project will be met by the Zorrotzaurre Management Commission. The budget for the project is €175,000 over 10 months. The design project for the opening of the Deusto Canal has been awarded
The Bilbao City Council has awarded the contract for the design of the construction project for the opening up of the Deusto Canal to Ingeniería Técnica y Proyectos S.A. (TYPSA) for €232,800. The estimated cost of the works to open up the Deusto Canal is €15,000,000 which will be met by the Bilbao City Council. The works will be carried out simultaneously with the construction of the bridge that will join Zorrotzaurre and Deusto.
