A total of nine tenders have been presented after the Bilbao City Council call for tenders, which finalised last Friday, for the carrying out of the public works for the opening of the Deusto canal and the construction of the bridge that will join Deusto to Zorrotzaurre. The Bilbao City Council call for tenders for the opening of the Deusto canal and the construction of the bridge which will link Deusto with the future Zorrotzaurrre island is published today in the Official Gazette of Bizkaia. The two projects will be undertaken simultaneously. The project budget base has been set at 24.2 million Euros (VAT not included) and the Management Commission will provide approximately 8 million. The period for presentation of tenders ends on September 27th and work is expected to commence towards the end of the year.

The period of information to the public of the Agreement for the management of the Execution Unit 1 of the Integrated Action Plan 1 of Zorrotzaurre has concluded with a total of 3 allegations, all presented by private owners. The Management Commission, after due analysis, will issue a report for the Bilbao City Council with its opinion as to the acceptance or not of the proposals presented. The City Council will take a final decision on which allegations should be incorporated into the Agreement before its definitive approval.
