DigiPen, the videogame university, will move its centre the BETA 1 building of Zorrotzaurre

DigiPen, known as the ‘videogame university’, will move from its current location in Zierbana to the BETA 1 building in Zorrotzaurre where it will begin its next academic year 2018-19.

Of US origin, the ‘videogame university’ has over 2,000 students on its campuses at Richmond (Washington), Singapore and Zierbana where it opened its first European school seven years ago.

The BETA 1 building, which is being renovated by the Bilbao City Council, has a total area of 4,702 m2 over three floors. DigiPen will occupy 3,620 square metres.

BETA 1 located at 2, Ribera de Zorrotzaurre, is one of 19 industrial buildings that are to be maintained under the Zorrotzaurre regeneration Project. Built in 1951, it was designed by the industrial engineer, Juan José Abrisqueta.
