The Basque Government Council today authorised the construction of a residential building with 66 dwellings on Zorrotzaurre, aimed at the rental market at subsidised prices for persons under the age of 35 and preferably registered residents in Bilbao, for a maximum lease period of 5 years.

Today’s Official State Gazette publishes the Bilbao Port Authority announcement that it is putting back the deadline for submitting bids in the tender for the award of the contract to dispose of the land generated by the infill works to be undertaken in Deusto canal. The new deadline is 29 October (the previous one expired tomorrow, 27 September).

The Contract Award Board has begun demolition of the Vicinay Cadenas facilities. This is the last big demolishment to be undertaken in phase one of the Zorrotzaurre project. Vicinay Cadenas, the world’s leading offshore chain sling manufacturer, is the largest company that was located in Zorrotzaurre.
