Deusto University has made public its intention to build its new medicine and nursing faculty in a building adjacent to the Zorrotzaurre IMQ clinic. The project will be undertaken by the Catalan architect Carlos Ferrater, designer of the Igualatorio clinic and will have a footage of 14,000 sq.m.

The works on this second bridge to Zorrotzaurre, which will be financed by Visesa, are being undertaken by the temporary joint venture formed by the companiesFerrovial-Agroman S.A. and Viconsa S.A. awarded the tender called for this purpose by Visesa (Vivienda y Suelo de Euskadi S.A.).

The works to completely open the Deusto canal are progressing to plan.According to the latest figures released by Bilbao City Hall, a quarter of the 360,000 cubic metres of earth have now been removed to leave the estuary a free path through the new channel.
