The Regional Government Head of Housing, Iñaki Arriola, and the Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, yesterday signed an agreement whereby City Hall assigned a 5,800 sq. m. plot (AD-1), lying on the right bank of Deusto Canal, for the Departament of the Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing to proceed with construction of a building containing 66 rental apartments for young people, with a 4-year delivery period.

Today’s edition of the Official Basque Country Gazette publishes the announcement of a tender process by Visesa to sell plot SI-5, located in San Ignacio, (beside the housing under construction by the Vive Zorrotzaurre Co-operative), for construction of 153 unsubsidised homes.

Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the public presentation of the Zorrotzaurre Management Committee and the first regeneration Master Plan for the area, drafted by Zaha Hadid Architects. That same day, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum opened a detailed exhibition spotlighting the Master Plan (models, photos, computer graphics, information panels) that was open to the general public for one month.
