Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the public presentation of the Zorrotzaurre Management Committee and the first regeneration Master Plan for the area, drafted by Zaha Hadid Architects. That same day, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum opened a detailed exhibition spotlighting the Master Plan (models, photos, computer graphics, information panels) that was open to the general public for one month.

The former Artiach biscuit Factory on Zorrotzaurre, now the location of Espacio Open, this weekend hosts the sixth edition of the Bilbao Maker Faire show. It is a creative technology event that brings the public into contact with inventors, engineers, artists, technology experts and other professions of tomorrow.

The mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, has confirmed that the municipal car pound currently located on Zorrotzaure will be moved “in the coming months” to the formerZorrotza abattoir, in the La Landa suburb, where it will located temporarily until a decision is taken regarding a definitive location.
