Bilbao City Council rescinds the contract for the opening up of the Deusto canal
The Bilbao City Council has rescinded the contract for the works to open up the Deusto canal held by the Temporary Consortium formed by Exvasa, Viuda de Sainz, Balzola and Urssa and awarded in February 2014 after the call for tenders and a favourable decision from the Legal Advice Commission of the Basque Country. The decision to rescind was taken due to the Temporary Consortium’s refusal to comply with the demand from the City Council to restart the Works that were stopped months earlier due to differences between the Consortium and the City over the cost of the contract. Reception of allegations to the Zorrotzaurre Urbanisation Project
Public exposition of the Urbanisation Project of the Execution Unit 1 of the Integrated Action 1 of Zorrotzaurre, which was initially approved on July 27th 2016, finished on September 30th with 21 allegations presented. Of those, 4 were presented by municipal groups, 3 by companies, 2 by neighbours’ associations, 1 by a sectorial association and the 11 remaining ones by members of the public. The Contracting Board, once they have analysed the documents, will draw up a report for the Bilbao City Council with their recommendations for acceptance or not of the different proposals presented. The European Commission has awarded a 4.6 million euro grant to set up ‘As Fabrik’ a digital business incubator in Zorrotzaurre
The European Commission has awarded a 4.6 million euro grant to the Bilbao City Council and a group of private investors to set up a complex dedicated to training and entrepreneurship in Zorrotzaurre. The project is called AS Fabrik and it will be a digital business incubator. The partners of the City Hall for this project are: Corporación Mondragon; MIK (Mondragon Innovation & Knowledge); GAIA; Orkestra; EIKEN; IDOM and Mondragon Unibertsitatea (Engineering and Business Faculties).
