Definitive approval for the Zorrotzaurre Urbanisation Project
The City Council agreed today definitive approval of the urbanisation project of the Execution Unit 1 for the Integrated Action Plan 1 of Zorrotzaurre.
Initially approved on July 27th 2016, the Project was available for public consultation for two months and 21 allegations to the Project were presented. Of these, 9 referred to aspects outside the technical content of the urbanisation Project and were turned down. Of the twelve remaining allegations, two have been totally accepted, 5 partially accepted and five turned down.
The main changes to be introduced into the Urbanisation Project as a result of the allegations are:
- Include a protective handrail on the canal bank.
- Modify the design of plazuela Yolanda Gónzalez and review the Street lighting.
- Include cover over one of the sport areas by the San Pablo church
- Modify the design of the free space around the Ribera de Deusto 24 building.
- Maintain several of the items belonging to Vicinay Cadenas in memory of Zorrotzaurre’s industrial past.
- Widen the walkway between Elorrieta and the Idom building.
- Install a public convenience on the walkway on the right bank of the canal.
- Include a one-way cycle path between Elorrieta and the new San Ignacio bridge.
The Urbanisation Project defines, on the one hand, the different elements that go to make up the surface area of the first phase of Zorrotzaurre: pavements, roadways, squares, urban furniture, parks, etc. and on the other hand, how the urban services, such as, water, gas and electricity supplies, sewage, street lighting, telephone networks and other communication networks are to be structured.
