Deusto Rowing Club moves to the new pavilion built in the former Agemasa industrial bay

10/07/2018

As of yesterday, Deusto Rowing Club is now located at number 23 on Avenida Zarandoa, in the industrial bay refurbished by Bilbao Kirolak formerly belonging to the company Agemasa.

The new facilities occupy an area of over 1,500 sq.m. all on one floor, comprising a hangar for boats, a training tank, a workshop-storage area, gymnasium and adapted changing rooms and bathrooms. The new rowing pavilion also contains a medical service space, an administration area and a meeting room.

The longboat hangar area has a free height of over 6 m with three entry gates and several storage alleys. The rowing tank, alternatively, is for fixed seat rowing, and has a single row for rowing on one side. As for the gymnasium, this is structured as an open space with views outside, divided into three areas to be able to perform rowing exercises, cardiovascular activities and work with weights.

These new facilities replace those that had previously been used by Deusto Rowing Club, located on the Deusto Bank. This old pavilion, built in 1984, will be demolished as part of the Zorrotzaurre urbanisation plan.
