Presentation of tenders for the opening of the Deusto canal and the construction of the new bridge

A total of nine tenders have been presented after the Bilbao City Council call for tenders, which finalised last Friday, for the carrying out of the public works for the opening of the Deusto canal and the construction of the bridge that will join Deusto to Zorrotzaurre. All the tenders have been presented by temporary consortiums made up of a total of 32 companies.

There was also a total of seven tenders (five in the form of temporary consortiums) in the parallel call for tenders made by the Bilbao City Council for the technical management of the works which also finished last Friday.

The works will be awarded in the near future given that the start of the works for the opening of the Deusto canal and the building of the new bridge (to be carried out simultaneously) is programmed for before the end of the year. The period for termination is 18 months.
