The Basque Government intends to locate a Tknika centre in Zorrotzaurre

09/04/2018

The Basque Government Department of Education has undertaken to locate a centre of Tknika, Basque Centre of Research and Applied Innovation in VET in the former company office building of Vicinay Cadenas.

The building was designed by the architect Ricardo Bastida in 1958 and is one of the 19 industrial buildings maintained within the Special Zorrotzaurre Plan, to be used for different purposes after their refurbishment.

Tknika was created in 2015 with the aim of placing vocational training in Euskadi at the European forefront, contributing to improving the standards and quality of said training in our area. It is currently based in Renteria, the idea being to transfer a significant part of its activity to Zorrotzaurre, without abandoning its current location.

Through networking and with the engagement of the vocational training faculty, this Centre, which takes the world’s most advanced models as its benchmark, undertakes innovation projects within the technology, training and management fields.

Colloquially speaking, Tknika can be said to improve Basque vocational trainer training because it enables teams of teachers from different areas to research and innovate to subsequently transfer this knowledge to the vocational training faculty.

Its remit is structured into the following fields: Applied Innovation in the Vocational Training sphere, Continuous Improvement, Research into Learning Methods and Processes, Entrepreneurship and Change Management, Internationalisation of the Vocational Training sphere and Sustainability.
