The In Focus cities network visits Zorrotzaurre

Last Thursday Deusto University library (Bilbao) hosted a working session of the In Focus European cities network.

On Friday the Managing Committee manager, Pablo Otaola, took the forum participants on a guided tour of the Zorrotzaurre peninsula, where they were able to verify the state of development of its regeneration plan.

In Focus, an international cities network promoted by the European Social Fund, represents a shared learning experience for undertaking smart specialisation strategies. Apart from Bilbao, Frankfurt (Germany), Bucharest (Romania), Bordeaux and Grenoble (France), Turin (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Ostrava (Czech Republic), Bielsko-Biala (Poland) and Plasencia (Spain) are all members of this network.

In the working session, the presentation of which was given by Juan Mari Aburto, Mayor of Bilbao, various work forums analysed different municipal innovation and development project cases as examples of best practice for the cities belonging to the network.
