The Zorrotzaurre Project is presented in the fourth meeting of the “Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth” forum, in Athens

Bilbao City Hall yesterday presented the Zorrotzaurre urban development project in the working sessions forming part of the fourth meeting of the Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth forum.

The Councillor in charge of the Mayor’s Office, Contracting and Human Resources, Gotzone Sagardui, gave this presentation in the seventh Round Tableof Mayors and Ministers that took place within the forum’s activities. More specifically, Sagardui took part in the session entitled “How governments and cities can work together to jointly design town-planning policies”, where she presented the Zorrotzaurre Island project as an example of multi-level governance and inclusive and sustainable town planning.

The Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth forum took place in the Greek capital on 18 and 19 March, its aim being to address growing social inequality and to foster inclusive growth in towns and citiesin order to reassess how public policies are designed. The event was attended by over twenty ministry representatives from different countries and over 30 mayors and members of local authorities and international organisations who have broached topics concerning globalisation, demographic changes, digitisation and climate change.
