Visesa commences building work on the bridge that will join San Ignacio with Zorrotzaurre

This week building work has begun on the bridge that will join San Ignacio with Zorrotzaurre.The works on this second bridge to Zorrotzaurre, which will be financed by Visesa, are being undertaken by the temporary joint venture formed by the companiesFerrovial-Agroman S.A.  and Viconsa S.A. awarded the tender called for this purpose by Visesa (Vivienda y Suelo de Euskadi S.A.). The bid they presented came to €8,377,611.20 (ex. VAT), while the initial bidding budget stood at €10,198,702.20 (ex. VAT).The project has a lead time of 17 months.

The bridge that will join San Ignacio to the future island of Zorrotzaurre, located between Idom and the new rowing pavilion, has been designed by the civil engineers Enrique Elkoroberezibar and Sergio Saiz, of the firm LKS Ingeniería.It will measure 75 metres in length with no support structures in the waterway and have a total width of 28 metres.The width will be allocated as follows:6.7 metres for two lanes of vehicle traffic; 7.0m for two lanes exclusively for buses; 2.5 metres for a two-way bidegorri (cycle lane); and 8.8m for two pedestrian footpaths.

The construction work on this bridge will accompany the 2 km of urbanisation works on a promenade between Elorrieta and  Ballets Olaeta street.
